Bancroft Airport
I've only flown to Bancroft once to visit my friend Tyler and although it can be a little intimidating, if you set up a nice approach there's really no problem landing here. The ridge in the photo lies on the south end of the field and so you need to skirt a little bit around it when passing over the town.

We think our airport is very unique because it is located within the Town...$5.00 cab ride....15 minute walk...Golf course next door.... During the warm weather ... Trips and Trails has 2 river trips a day...one can rent a canoe/kayak and be driven up river for $35.00 per person...then it's a 2-3 hour river trip right down to the Trips and Trails store in downtown Bancroft. website: http://tripsandtrails.ca/ They are also really into biking and run the hilly hundred bike tour in the fall.... People can hike our Eagles Nest..it's a beautiful view and lots of trails...restaurants and shops....lots of stuff on COPA...karen In the summer, there are mining tours....Bancroft is the 'Mineral Capital of Canada' and hosts a gemboree weekend the last weekend of July.... We are in the process of applying for grants to improve our runway and facilities....so keep in touch and we can tell you more....maybe you could link the Bancroft Chamber of Commerce Website. http://www.bancroftdistrict.com/ Hoping to see that yellow rv4 at Bancroft again. Oh, we have a weather cam at the airport and that is on the Nav Canada's web

Departing Bancroft
Lots more trees close to the runway grounds then you might otherwise find, but certainly not a hindrance.
