GUELPH AIRPARK
August 9th 2014
Istopped by the Guelph Airpark today to investigate the current status of available hangars and was pleasantly surprised by this very nice airpark. Located on the east end of Guelph, I was surprised to find an entire street of older homes that run parallel to the main runway-perfect for the homeowner who also happens to enjoy plane-spotting, and at least one of them was, by virtue of the retired plane that formed the centrepiece of their lawn decoration efforts. The airpark also has a small restaurant and judging by all of the occupied tables on a Saturday afternoon, the locals like it too. Wandering around the hangars I ran into a few of the long time local pilots who were also quite friendly, and offered an invite to their weekly Thursday BBQ.
